FOUNDATION FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH, 1975 to June 1977
I had worked here from 1975 to June 1977. I was instrumental in setting up and organising the library of the foundation's institute at Worli.
During the time that I had served at the institute I had built up a collection of about 3000 reprints besides books and periodicals.
I had to help the researchers by compiling bibiliographies and scanning the journals not subscribed by the library.
As part of my duties as a librarian I was required to orgainise regular meetings and lectures by visiting scientists.
During my career at the institute I had also arranged a Workshop on Leprosy.
A number of leading doctors from Bomaby attended the Workshop.
The proceedings of the Workshop were published.

LARSEN & TUBRO LTD., POWAI, BOMBAY
The Technical Information Center is a part of the R&D department of L&T's Group II.
The center includes a Library and a Documentation Unit.
I was responsible for the functioning of the library.
My responsibilities were the acquisition of books, periodicals, standards, patents and reprints.
Besides a good collection of books the library had a valuable collection of 10,000 reprints, trade literature and technical reports.
These were received both from internal sources and also from abroad.
My job was to computerise the various activities of the library for which a microcomputer was ordered.
I had developed a scheme for cataloguing and classifying the reprints and reports which is still in use.
A considerable amount of literature is continuously received by the library. To disseminate this information to our own department and the other departments scattered over the country an in-house publication was brought out called "CURRENT ADDITITONS".
My only reason for leaving this origanisation was due to personal reasons which constrained my moving to Hyderabad.
